In the middle of the south metro
The property sits at 6358 Old Dixie Highway in Jonesboro, on the stretch of US 19/41 that becomes Tara Boulevard heading south. It is an unusually central spot for this side of the metro: Morrow and Riverdale sit either side of us, Forest Park just north, and downtown Atlanta a straight run up I-75.
That geography is why the guest list looks the way it does. Someone visiting a patient at Southern Regional in Riverdale, a crew working a warehouse contract in Forest Park, a family heading to Trilith near Fayetteville and a race weekend group going to Hampton all end up in the same car park — because from here, none of those is more than a short drive.
The other reason is cost. Rates on this corridor are lower than Henry County, Fayette County or anywhere near downtown, and parking is free rather than an additional nightly charge. For a stay of more than a night or two, that gap is usually what decides it.

Why guests base themselves in Jonesboro
Jonesboro is not the destination for most of the people who stay here. It is the base. Someone is visiting a patient at the hospital in Riverdale, working a contract in a Forest Park warehouse, attending an event at Clayton State in Morrow, taking a family to Trilith near Fayetteville, or heading to a race at Hampton. What those trips have in common is that from this corridor, none of them is more than a short drive — and none of them is well served by lodging in its own town.
The economics are the second half of it. Clayton County rates on this corridor sit below Henry County to the east, Fayette County to the south-west, and anywhere approaching downtown Atlanta. Add free parking rather than a nightly charge, and no booking fee because you are dealing with the property directly, and the gap over a week is usually substantial. For one night it may not be worth the drive. For a fortnight it generally is.
For business travellers, the practical draw is I-75 Exit 235 less than a mile north. The south-metro logistics corridor — the warehouses and distribution centres between Forest Park, Morrow and the cargo area — is the largest single employer group in the county, and a great many of our guests are working in it. A room a minute off the interstate with free lit parking and a desk that never closes suits that pattern better than a downtown hotel with a check-in window and a parking garage.
For medical visitors, Southern Regional Medical Center is in Riverdale. Those stays are unpredictable by nature — families arrive expecting two nights and stay eleven — which is why weekly rates quoted by phone and the ability to extend a week at a time matter more than a headline nightly figure.
